Frequently asked questions
How do pleated blinds work?
As opposed to many other types of window covering, pleated blinds can operate horizontally or vertically. They can also operate top down or bottom up, giving you the freedom to attach them to the top or bottom of your window.
When open, pleated blinds collapse and flatten to stack neatly and subtly at the edge of your window frame. You can operate pleated blinds using a cord, chain or motor system – it’s up to you!
How long do pleated blinds last?
Pleated blinds last approximately seven to eight years on average, when maintained properly.
With Heritage Blinds & Shutters, you can rest easy knowing all window coverings are backed by a manufacturer’s guarantee. To learn more about the durability of our pleated blinds, please don’t hesitate to contact our expert team on (02) 4958 4336.
Should I choose cellular or pleated blinds?
The key difference between cellular and pleated blinds is that cellular blinds include two or more additional layers with honeycomb-shaped compartments that trap air for extra insulation.
On the other hand, a pleated blind only has one layer of fabric and almost completely disappears when raised, and therefore accommodates more light than cellular blinds.
If insulation or privacy are your primary concerns, then we recommend exploring our collection of cellular blinds. That said, you can always add privacy or blackout liners to your pleated blinds.

How do I care for pleated blinds?
To maximise the lifespan of your Verosol pleated blinds, make sure to raise them whenever any windows and/or doors are open, as a strong wind may damage the blind’s structure. It is also important to prevent exposure to rain and other wet substances, which can stain the fabric.
How do I clean pleated blinds?
Pleated blinds are preferred for their easy maintenance. These blinds are anti-static, making them resistant to air-born dust. For light cleaning, simply swipe with a soft brush or damp sponge and water.
If your pleated blinds require a deep clean, Verosol advises you to use a professional cleaner with ultrasonic cleaning techniques. Never spray window cleaner or other household agents on or near the fabric.
